Federal Minister Engineer Amir Muqam presented the Prime Minister’s Relief Package for flood victims in Buner to Deputy Commissioner Buner, Kashif Qayyum. The federal government is making efforts to provide all possible assistance.
The relief package included tents, blankets, generators, dewatering pumps, ration bags, and medicines. In a media briefing, Engineer Amir Muqam stated that, following the Prime Minister’s instructions, the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) is actively sending relief supplies to the flood victims in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
He mentioned that the NDMA is maintaining full communication with relevant civil and military institutions. Engineer Amir Muqam also noted that Prime Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif is personally overseeing the relief efforts and plans to visit the affected areas soon.
This visit marks Engineer Amir Muqam’s second trip to Buner since the flood. He recalled, “Immediately after the flood, I was the first government representative to reach the victims and witness the destruction firsthand. I saw bodies being pulled from the rubble.”
He expressed profound sadness over the loss of life and property in Buner and acknowledged that Shangla, Swat, Bajaur, and Mansehra have also faced significant damage due to the floods. He emphasised, “The federal government stands with the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and is utilising all its resources for the flood victims.”

Expressing pride in the nation’s unity during this challenging time, he noted that the people of Pakistan have come together to provide assistance. He also highlighted that the residents of Buner and nearby areas are actively participating in the relief efforts. All roads under the National Highway Authority (NHA) have been cleared, and work is ongoing day and night to restore electricity.
Engineer Amir Muqam stated that the Prime Minister has directed the Chairman of the NHA to fully cooperate with provincial and district administrations to rehabilitate the roads. He also announced that the federal government would formally announce compensation for affected families to facilitate their recovery.
He assured that the federal government will not abandon the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and will stand with them during these difficult times. The district leadership of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) in Buner was also present at the event.
