SHANGLA: Pakistan Mineral Development Corporation (PMDC) on Monday issued form XI to provide compensation for the families of 11 deceased and a critically injured coalminer. The miners lost their lives in a terrorist blast that occurred in the Harnai area of Balochistan on Friday last week.
PMDC issued a notification regarding victims of the recent bomb blast in Balochistan. The notification stated that the victims, along with one injured person, would be eligible for compensation according to PMDC guidelines since the tragic incident occurred within PMDC jurisdiction while the workers were en route to their jobs when the attack happened.
Abid Yar, the Coalmine Workers Rights Association, Shangla chapter spokesperson, told Pakhtun Digital English that after fulfilling the formalities, the compensation grants would be paid to the victims’ heirs.
He said as form XI mentioned all the 11 deceased and an injured name in the notification, the families of all of them would receive the compensation grant.
Eleven coalminers were killed, and five others were injured when the miner’s vehicle was struck by an improvised explosive device when they were heading towards mines for work in the Shahragh area of Harnai district in Balochistan.
