Rana Sana: Imran’s choice of Achakzai shows “lack of confidence” in PTI

PTI founder nominated Achakzai as opposition leader

ISLAMABAD : Rana Sanaullah, the Advisor to the Prime Minister on Political Affairs, has strongly criticized PTI founder Imran Khan’s decision to appoint Mahmood Achakzai as the opposition leader.

Speaking on a television program, Sanaullah claimed that choosing a leader from outside his own party shows a “lack of confidence” in PTI’s own members. He stated that the PTI should have been the one to lead the opposition in the assembly.

Sanaullah also addressed other political matters. He clarified that the government has not yet made a decision regarding the 27th Constitutional Amendment but defended the previous 26th Amendment as being in the country’s best interest.

He described a recent meeting in Murree as being focused on upcoming by-elections.

Regarding the May 9 incidents, Sanaullah reiterated that the PTI should publicly condemn the events. He added that the legal cases related to May 9 have been a two-year process, suggesting that a resolution would require an admission of wrongdoing from those involved.
