PESHAWAR: Ijaz Ahmed, a police officer from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, has won a gold medal for Pakistan at the 57th Asian Bodybuilding Championship in Thailand.
The 53-year-old bodybuilder triumphed in the Master’s Category for athletes over 80 kg, securing Pakistan’s second gold medal at the competition. Ahmed is a well-known figure in the sport and serves as a member of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police.
Following his victory, Inspector General of Police (IGP) Zulfiqar Hameed commended Ahmed for his outstanding achievement. The IGP stated that the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are talented and resilient, noting that its police officers are not only dedicated to defending the nation but also to excelling in various fields to bring it honor.
He further announced that the police department would support its qualified personnel by sponsoring their participation in sports competitions both within the country and internationally. This initiative aims to showcase the talent of the nation’s youth and bring global recognition to Pakistan.
