BAJAUR: Tribal elders of Salarzai in a grand Jirga have announced that no one will be allowed to disturb the peace of the Salarzai area, and if anyone was found to be involved in terrorist activities, the entire tribe will stand united to defeat those elements.
The grand Jirga was held at the residence of former provincial minister and MPA Anwarzeb Khan. The jirga was attended by the leaders of the entire Salarzai nation. It was unanimously decided in the jirga that no one would be allowed to disturb the peace in Salarzai. They passed a joint declaration stating that if anyone in Salarzai facilitates miscreant groups, his house will be demolished, the area will be evicted, a fine of Rs 5 million will be imposed, and his family will be declared the enemy of the entire tribe.
They decided to ban movement in the entire Salarzai at night, and if the government or any government agency wants to take any action in Salarzai, it will be done during the day; no one will be allowed at night to interfere with the peace of Salarzai.
If any problem arises in any area of Salarzai, the entire Salarzai nation will go there and confront it. They added that guards will be posted in all areas of Salarzai, and a committee should be formed under the leadership of the judges of the Supreme Court to inquire into all the operations from 2002 to 2025. All the people arrested in Salarzai till now should be brought before the nation.
The declaration said that the people of the area were badly affected by the flood and the military operation in Mamond, and now they would not let anyone create a law and order situation in the area. He said that the people have firmly decided to take strict action against any suspected group involved in a terrorist attack.
