ISLAMABAD: The infighting within the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) has resulted in the resignation of Secretary General Salman Akram Raja. This decision follows an alleged disagreement with Aleema Khan, the sister of PTI founder Imran Khan, regarding a by-election dispute.
The PTI sources spoke to this correspondent in this regard and said that Salman Akram Raja stepped down after a discussion with Aleema Khan about the upcoming by-elections. During the conversation, Aleema Khan stated that the founder had issued a clear directive against participating in the by-election. In response, Salman Akram Raja conveyed the stance of the political committee, noting that 9 members voted against participating while 13 voted in favour.

The party sources say the discussion escalated, leading to Salman Akram Raja losing his temper. He faced criticism from committee members after inquiring about the identity of the opposition leader from the founder chairman. Following this confrontation, Salman Akram Raja decided to leave the political committee meeting.
