Saudi airline flyadeal launches new direct flights to Islamabad, Peshawar

PESHAWAR: In a significant boost to air connectivity, Saudi Arabia’s low-cost carrier Flyadeal has officially launched new international flights to Islamabad and Peshawar, while also increasing its overall seat capacity to Pakistan to five million.

The expansion began with inaugural flights arriving at both cities this week. The first Flyadeal flight from Riyadh was welcomed at Islamabad International Airport on Sunday, arriving with 65 passengers and receiving a traditional water salute. It departed later with 172 passengers bound for Saudi Arabia.

The following day, on Monday, the airline’s inaugural flight touched down at Bacha Khan International Airport in Peshawar. To mark the occasions, cake-cutting ceremonies were organized at the airports, attended by officials from the Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority, Airport Security Force (ASF), and ground handling company Menzies RAS.

With this expansion, Flyadeal has established a regular weekly flight schedule:

Islamabad: One flight every Sunday.

Peshawar: Two flights every week on Monday and Wednesday.

The Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority welcomed the new services, stating that the increased flights will provide greater convenience to passengers and further strengthen the deep-rooted ties and air connectivity between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.
