The Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) in Faisalabad has declared Sheikh Waqas Akram, the Information Secretary of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), a proclaimed offender. The court expressed strong discontent over his repeated absences and ordered the confiscation of his bail bonds.
Details indicate that the court summoned Sheikh Waqas Akram multiple times, but he failed to appear. Previously, the court had issued arrest warrants for him, yet he continued to be absent. Due to his failure to appear, the court took legal action and officially declared him a proclaimed offender.
Sheikh Waqas Akram is facing charges at the Kotwali Jhang police station for making provocative speeches, which include violations of Section 7 of the Anti-Terrorism Act (ATA) and other serious terrorism-related provisions.

Legal experts suggest that now that he has been declared a proclaimed offender, Sheikh Waqas Akram could be arrested at any time, and his surety may also face legal repercussions. The court has also instructed that further proceedings in the case be conducted at the next hearing.
