ISLAMABAD: Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Barrister Gohar said that the final decision to participate in the bye-election would be made after meeting with PTI founder Imran Khan.
Talking to Journalists outside Adiala Jail in Rawalpindi, Barrister Gohar said that the founder of PTI will decide on going to the by-elections. There are some doubts about the by-elections. They will decide after meeting the founder. The party definitely has an opinion on participating in the elections, but the decision should be made by the founder.
He said that, unfortunately, something comes out from within the party which creates controversy. When things come out from within the party, people understand that there are differences.
Barrister Gohar said that the founder also has clear instructions that no party leader will submit his resignation in public, and the founder has clear instructions that no leader should comment in public on internal party affairs.
He said that he had come to meet the founder today, but the police stopped him. It is not appropriate to stop him from meetings. “I always say that there should be understanding. Distances will increase due to unjust punishments, disqualifications and arrests,” he remarked.
The PTI chairman said that whether the political committee decided to participate in the elections or not, I was not in that meeting. If the founder’s instructions are not to participate in the elections, then the founder’s word will be the final word. There is ambiguity on some things, but the founder’s instructions will be implemented 100 per cent.
He said that the decision of who should be the opposition leader would be made by the founder of PTI. When the seat of the opposition leader fell vacant, I did not present myself as a candidate anywhere. We stayed on the seat of the opposition leader; the parliament can function even without the opposition leader.
He said that we are not having any negotiations at any level. The situation is tough for them, but democracy cannot function without the opposition. Aleema Khan has nothing to do with party affairs; she is not influencing party affairs and this was a wrong impression.
