PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Government has allocated additional Rs 20 billion for fast track ongoing development projects in the province to complete them at earliest.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Khan Gandapur chaired a high-level meeting to review progress on priority development projects across the province. The meeting was attended by the Chief Secretary, the Additional Chief Secretary, Planning and Development, and the administrative secretaries of the relevant departments.

During the meeting, key public service delivery projects set to be completed within the current financial year were identified. These priority projects span critical sectors, including health, education, drinking water, communication, irrigation, and relief.

To accelerate progress, the provincial cabinet has approved an additional Rs 20 billion for the early completion of these priority and near-completion projects. The funds aim to ensure that essential public services become operational without delay.

Officials noted that targeted funding provided in the last three months of the previous year for near-completion projects yielded significant results. Building on that success, the same approach will be implemented this year to complete such projects on schedule.

The Chief Minister emphasised the need for judicious use of development funds and strict prioritisation. Projects with over 80% physical progress will be given full funding to ensure their immediate completion.
