PESHAWAR: The Federal Investigation Agency has intensified operations against networks involved in Hawala Hundi and illegal currency exchange and arrested two persons.

During the operations conducted by the Commercial Banking Circle Peshawar and Composite Circle Abbottabad under the FIA ​​Peshawar Zone, domestic and foreign currency worth crores of rupees were recovered.

During the operations, three suspects were arrested, identified as Sahil, Afghan Jan and Saad. These individuals were arrested from Mansehra and Peshawar.

According to the authorities, these suspects were involved in the illegal currency exchange business without a license.

The raiding teams recovered 50,000 US dollars, 22,700 Saudi riyals, 2,150 UAE dirhams, 1,060 euros, 29,500 Afghan Afghanis, 255 British pounds, and 75,200 Pakistani rupees from the possession of the suspects, in addition to Canadian dollars, Qatari riyals, and Kuwaiti dinars.

According to the authorities, important evidence related to illegal currency exchange has also been obtained from the suspects, and an investigation has been launched against the arrested persons.
