MOHMAND : In a major joint operation on August 30, 2025, Pakistani security forces and local police targeted hideouts of militants, known as Khawarij, in the Mohmand region.
The operation successfully struck several militant compounds. While official figures are yet to be released, reports indicate that a number of militants sustained casualties during the intense exchange of fire.
A key moment of the operation involved the bravery of soldiers from the Frontier Corps (FC) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa North, who safely evacuated an injured police officer from the line of fire and moved him to a secure location for medical treatment. Following the initial engagement, security forces established a tight cordon around the area.
The clash is reported to be ongoing, with security forces taking robust action. Search operations have been intensified to clear the area of any remaining threats.
The stated objective of this ongoing operation is to eliminate terrorist elements from the region and ensure lasting peace and security for the local population. This action is part of the security forces’ continuous and comprehensive campaign against terrorism.
