PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur said on Wednesday that conflict between rival tribes in Kurram district is not new rather had continued for over 30 years.

He said that is no land dispute in Kurram rather is a sectarian and warned that elements sabotaging peace in region would face strict action. He said that Kurram conflict had continued for over 30 years.

Ali Amin Gandapur said that elements sabotaging peace in Kurram would be dealt with iron hands. He said that the provincial government will fix head money on miscreants to restore peace in the region.

He blamed foreign hand for fueling the conflict in Kurram. He said that they have been confused in issues of provincialism, linguistics, and sectarianism.

The government, he said, was securing Kurram Road. CCTV cameras were being installed to ensure safe travel. He warned that those spreading chaos wanted to ignite the entire country. But the state would not spare anyone responsible for violence.

Earlier today, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government decided to evacuate four villages of Lower Kurram after recent attacks on aid convoys that left at least nine people including five security personnel dead.

The four villages include Ochat, Mandori, Dad Kamar, and Bagan. They are evacuated to carryout crackdown on miscreants involved in fouling the conflict and attacks on aid convoys.
