PESHAWAR: Provincial Chairman of Quami Watan Party (QWP), Sikandar Khan Sherpao has strongly criticized the recent statement by Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur supporting the construction of Kalabagh Dam.
Sherpao called the dam a highly controversial project that will never be constructed, as all three provincial assemblies have passed resolutions opposing the Kalabagh Dam, and urged the Chief Minister to refrain from raising such sensitive issues.
While criticising CM Ali Amin Gandapur, Sherpao said that CM is using the Kalabagh Dam debate to divert attention from his government’s failures and corruption.
Speaking about the current situation in the province, Sherpao said that law and order, unemployment, and corruption are worsening, and the government failed to meet public expectations during the recent floods.
QWP leader further said that the government should instead concentrate on ongoing projects like the Diamer-Bhasha and Mohmand dams to address the country’s energy and water crises.
