MELBOURNE: Australian fast bowler Mitchell Starc has officially announced his retirement from T20 International cricket.
According to Cricket Australia, the star fast bowler made the decision in order to focus on Test and One Day International (ODI) formats.
Mitchell Starc, who has not played a T20I since the 2024 T20 World Cup, will now be available for Australia only in Test and ODI matches.
Starc will continue to participate in domestic T20 leagues, including the Indian Premier League (IPL).
While talking to Australian media, Australian pacer said that Test cricket has always been his top priority, adding that he enjoyed every T20 match I’ve played for Australia, and winning the 2021 T20 World Cup remains a special memory.

Mitchell Starc played 65 T20 Internationals for Australia, taking 79 wickets during his career in the shortest format.
