ISLAMABAD: President Asif Ali Zardari has praised the security forces for repelling the terrorist attack on the Federal Constabulary Headquarters in Bannu district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
President Zardari held Indian-backed extremist elements responsible for the cowardly assault, referring to them as “Fitna al-Khawarij terrorists”, a term used to describe radical anti-state militants.
The President paid rich tribute to the martyrs who thwarted the nefarious designs of the terrorists and laid down their lives in the line of duty. He prayed for the elevation of the ranks of the martyrs and the swift recovery of those injured in the attack.

Terrorist attack in Bannu is being viewed as part of a broader attempt by hostile forces to destabilize peace and security in the region. Security forces have reportedly contained the situation, and investigations are underway.
