KURRAM: Unknown armed men opened indiscriminate fire on a passenger vehicle in the Lower Kurram area of Kurram district, killing 5 people.
The police shifted the bodies to the district hospital while a search and investigation into the incident has been launched. According to the police, this sad incident took place in a sensitive area of Lower Kurram, where unknown attackers targeted a passenger vehicle. As a result of the firing, five people died on the spot. The bodies of the deceased have been shifted to DHQ Hospital.
Police officials say that the attackers fled the scene after the firing, and a search operation is underway to arrest them. Evidence has been collected from the scene and investigations are being conducted from different angles.
Reacting to the incident, Member of National Assembly from the area, Engineer Hameed Hussain, called the incident a conspiracy to disrupt the peace of the area.
This terrorist incident is an attempt to disrupt the peaceful atmosphere. The people should be alert and unite to foil these conspiracies. “There is an atmosphere of fear and panic in the area after the incident, while security has been further tightened.
