Cricketer Haider Ali free to travel as UK authorities dismiss rape allegations

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Middle order batsman Haider Ali has been cleared of rape charges in UK on Wednesday following the insufficient evidence against him in the case.

According to media report, the Greater Manchester Police found no evidence against Haider Ali despite taking additional time from a local court.

Haider Ali is expected to get his passport back from the UK authorities after the case was against him.

Earlier in the month of August, a woman levelled rape allegations against the Pakistani cricketer in the UK.

Middle order batter Haider Ali was part of the Pakistan Shaheens squad on the England tour, was taken into custody and investigated for three days after the accusations.

He was later released on bail, however, UK authorities barred him from leaving the country.
