QUETTA: The death toll from a deadly blast near a political gathering organized by the Balochistan National Party in Quetta on Tuesday night has climbed to 15, while 38 others were injured in the incident.
The spokesperson of Civil Hospital Quetta told local media that 15 bodies and 38 injured individuals were brought to the hospital following the attack. Medical staff have declared an emergency as several of the injured are said to be in critical condition.
Chief Secretary Hamza Shafqaat confirmed that it was a suicide attack and that the body of the suspected bomber, believed to be under the age of 30, had been recovered from the scene.

Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti strongly condemned the attack, saying that the nefarious designs of terrorists will be crushed with full force. CM Bugti also announced compensation of Rs. 1.5 million for the families of the deceased and Rs. 500,000 for each injured person.
