PKR 17.5 million raised in charity match for flood victims in KP

PESHAWAR: The provincial Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs, Syed Fakhar-u-Zaman handed over a cheque worth PKR 17.5 million to Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Ali Amin Khan Gandapur for the rehabilitation of flood victims across the province.

According to details, the funds were collected during a flood relief charity match, which was played between the Peshawar Zalmi and Legends XI in Peshawar. The collected funds will be deposited into a special account created by Khyber Bank under the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) to aid the rehabilitation of flood victims in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Secretary Sports and Youth Affairs Saadat Hassan and Director General Sports Tashfeen Haider were also present on the occasion.

The charity match saw the sale of 15,000 general tickets priced at PKR 1,000 each. Additionally, 100 VIP category tickets were sold for PKR 10,000 each, while 30 VVIP tickets fetched PKR 50,000 each, contributing to the total amount raised.
