LAHORE: Severe and unprecedented flooding has hit the Chenab River after the release of water by India.
According to reports, at Head Marala, the water inflow reached 444,000 cusecs, while the flow at Head Khanki surged to 558,000 cusecs.
Similarly, Head Trimmu is also facing a high-level flood situation with water flow recorded at 265,000 cusecs.
The floodwaters have caused extensive damage in the Kot Momin area of Ram Dihana, submerging several buildings including a government elementary school.
Meanwhile, high-level flooding has also been reported at Shorkot along the Chenab River, flooding multiple areas near Jhang and Multan roads. Army and rescue teams are actively engaged in relief operations.

According to local media reports, in Multan, the flooding has led to riverbank erosion, causing land to be washed away. The floodwaters have entered several areas of Pindi Bhattian, submerging Government Technical College and the Police Patrolling Checkpost at Thana Sadar.
