DI KHAN: The fuel station association on Wednesday took to the street against the sale of smuggled petrol which they said was brought through the different routes of tribal areas to Dera Ismail Khan.
The Dera Ismail Khan city’s fuel station association staged a protest in DI Khan city and marched from Haq Nawaz Park to Topano wala Chowk while carrying banners and placards inscribed with their demands and chanting slogans against the district administration.
The protesters alleged that the smuggling of petroleum products started with the connivance of the district administration and police.
They said that they pay taxes by spending millions of rupees but they are not protected and government agencies are providing protection to those selling illegal petroleum products by taking bribes.
The speakers said that they were suffering from financial losses due to the sale of smuggled petrol in the city.
They demanded the authorities to immediately intervene in the issue and stop the illegal practice in the city.
