ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has postponed several by-elections for the National and Punjab Assemblies due to severe flooding across the province.
According to details, ECP delayed by-elections in five National Assembly constituencies, including NA-66 (Wazirabad), NA-96, NA-104 (Faisalabad), NA-129 (Lahore), and NA-143 (Sahiwal).
Similarly, by-elections for four Punjab Assembly seats have been postponed. These constituencies include PP-73 (Sargodha), PP-87 (Mianwali), PP-97 (Faisalabad), and PP-203 (Sahiwal).
ECP officials said that the ongoing flood situation was the primary reason for delaying the elections to ensure the safety of voters and officials.
