Two women dead, five children missing after rescue boat capsizes in Rahim Yar Khan

Rahim Yar Khan: Two women drowned and five children went missing after a boat carrying people during a rescue operation capsized in the flood-hit area of Noorwala in Punjab’s Rahim Yar Khan district.

The rescue team was evacuating stranded people when the boat overturned due to unknown reasons. Eyewitnesses stated that the boat was returning with rescued flood victims when the accident happened mid-journey.

According to reports, two women drowned in the floodwaters and were later identified as the wives of Muhammad Asif and Akmal. Meanwhile, five children were swept away and remain missing.

Soon after the incident, local authorities cordoned off the area and launched a search operation to locate the missing children.

Rescue officials have not yet determined the exact cause of the boat’s capsizing.
