Atif Khan: Kalabagh Dam project can’t proceed without provincial consensus

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader and Member of National Assembly Atif Khan has said that the Kalabagh Dam remains a controversial project lacking support from the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly, the local public, and the PTI central leadership.

During an interview with private news channel Samaa News, PTI Senior leader Atif Khan clarified that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur’s recent comments on the Kalabagh Dam reflect his personal opinion and do not represent the PTI’s policy.

Atif Khan highlighted that the PTI Secretary General Salman Akram Raja has shared the party policy on Kalabagh dam that the project cannot proceed without unanimous consensus among all provinces.

MNA further said that the government should prioritize other large-scale water projects that do not have political controversies and start work on them immediately.
