Peshawar High Court approved the launch of Double Docket Court(night shift) in Abbottabad and Peshawar where the litigants are facing delay in the court proceedings due heavy pressure of cases on judges.
The Peshawar High Court Registrar issuned notification which sates that as per the recommendation of National Judicial policy committee 54th meeting held on August 18, 2025 had decided to hold evening shift Double Docket Court regime in Abbottabad and Peshawar on pilot basis.
If the project was successful, then it could be extended to other districts of the province. This landmark decision would bring improvement in the process of prosecution and would also ensure the speedy justice system to the affected families.
This project is the first one in the Pakistan History as common citizen consider the justice system ineffective to reward justice to the people. The unnecessary delay of cases and absent of the lawyers and judges have cause disappointment among the litigants.
