On May 9, the Anti-Terrorism Court issued its verdict regarding the case involving the burning of a vehicle belonging to a squad of a Supreme Court judge. Yasmin Rashid, Ijaz Chaudhry, Mahmood-ul-Rasheed, and Omar Sarfraz Cheema were each sentenced to 10 years in prison. Khadija Shah received a five-year prison sentence.
The court acquitted former Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi, as well as Rubina Jamil and Afshan Tariq, of all charges. The ruling was delivered by Anti-Terrorism Court Judge Manzar Ali Gul while sitting in Kot Lakhpat Jail.
