India has released water into the Sutlej River, after which more floods are expected in Punjab areas like Multan and other important cities.

According to media reports, the Indian High Commission in Pakistan has informed the Pakistani authorities about the release of water into the Sutlej River by India. Upon receiving the information, the Ministry of Water Resources has issued a flood alert. There is a high level of flood in the Sutlej River in Lower Harike and Lower Ferozepur.

On the other hand, DG PDMA Punjab, Irfan Ali Kathia, has said that the next 3 days are very important for Multan. Jalalpur Peerwala has been the most affected so far, where the water of the Ravi and Sutlej rivers has accumulated, and the area has been further affected by the dam breach today.

He said that relief camps have been set up for the victims and efforts are being made to evacuate people from the affected areas, but people are reluctant to leave their homes, which has proven to be a challenge for us.

The DG PDMA said that there is a sufficient number of boats in the area, resources were brought from Rawalpindi and Gujranwala divisions last night and allocated to save Jalalpur Peerwala.

The PDMA chief said that the flow of water has reduced in Lahore, Narowal, Sheikhupura, Gujranwala and Nankana, and we are starting restoration work there. The next 3 days are important for South Punjab, especially Multan.
