Fake news: Manzoor Pashteen not injured in firing

PESHAWAR:  News has been circulating on social media since morning that Pashtun Tahafuz Movement (PTM) Chief Manzoor Pashteen has been shot dead in a firing incident.

The news of the Manzoor Pashteen has been circulating in multiple WhatsApp groups of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Pakhtun Digital spoke to multiple sources and close friends of Manzoor Pashteen and it has been confirmed that he has been neither attacked nor injured in firing.

Sources said that the news is fake and now such incident has been occurred.

Manzoor Pashteen is safe and alive. All this news is based on propaganda and lies.

Manzoor Pashteen is the founder of the Pakhtoon Tahafuz Movement which was banned by the government in October last year for posing a threat to national sovereignty and security. The government had banned the PTM just days before its planned Pakhtoon jirga in Khyber district.

Latter, the jirga, or council of elders, was co-hosted by the Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Ali Amin Gandapur and Manzoor Pashteen. The PTM had made put forward several demands before the government.
