Punjab Information Minister Uzma Bukhari has said that Punjab is fighting the worst disaster of its history and it is not appropriate to use floods for politics.
While holding a press conference in Lahore, she said that private boats will be regulated in flood-affected areas, the government will pay for private boats. Uzma Bukhari says that the situation in Head Muhammad Wala and Sher Shah is under control, the Tentacle Committee has not decided to make any breach to save Head works Muhammad Wala and Sher Shah, the Punjab government does not show stubbornness, it corrects, where there is a mistake.
He said that yesterday an incident of operating a private boat came to light. The private boat was asking for money to shift flood victims to a safe place. The Assistant Commissioner of Jalalpur Pirwala, the area which was surrounded by floods, has been removed from his post due to poor arrangements.
He said that 139 boats are engaged in the rescue process in Multan. 4572 villages have been affected by the flood and 4.2 million people have been affected while 2.2 million people have been shifted to a safe place, 490 medical camps and 412 veterinary camps are there.
