Nursing council probes viral cultural day videos

ISLAMABAD: Farzana Zulfiqar and Jawad Amin group, contenders for the slot of presidency of Pakistan Nursing and Midwifery councils, clashed with each other for the slot of Presidency; however, the clash was thwarted after the timely action of police.

During the power struggle in the Pakistan Nursing and Midwifery Council (PNMC), members tried to take over, while the police arrested all the members late at night. According to the report, after negotiations at the police station, the members were allowed to leave. Farzana Zulfiqar and Jawad Amin are the contenders for the presidency of the Nursing Council.  The notification for the removal of Farzana Zulfiqar could not be issued; the Ministry of Health gave the charge of the secretary of the Nursing Council to the deputy secretary against the rules. Late at night, the members of the council reached the Nursing Council with Jawad Amin, sources said that the officials of the Ministry of Health also kept giving orders contrary to the court orders.

Due to the absence of members and the president from the Nursing Council, the registration of hundreds of colleges is pending. Due to the absence of a president and members of the council for a long time, the council meeting could not be held.
