Gold prices fall for third consecutive day in Pakistan

In a shocking incident in the Tando Dag area of Swat, robbers disguised in police uniforms looted approximately 230 tolas of gold, Rs 5.36 million in cash, weapons, ATMs, and other valuables from a group of gold traders. The criminals later abandoned the victims, tied up, in Jamal Ghari (Katlang, Mardan).

A case has been registered at Rahimabad Police Station based on a complaint by the affected businessman, Iftikhar Khan, son of Arsala Khan.

According to the FIR, the victims—all associated with Zia Jewelers, a shop located in Mingora’s Sarafa Bazaar—were returning to their village, Manyar after closing their shop on Thursday night. While en route, they were intercepted by individuals dressed in police uniforms, who claimed to take them to the Ghaligay Police Station for questioning. The suspects were travelling in a black double-cabin Vigo vehicle. One of the men was in plain clothes and sat with the traders during the journey.

The victims stated that they were handcuffed near the Ghaligay check post and later taken at gunpoint to Mardan, where the robbers looted their gold, cash, mobile phones, and other personal belongings.

Police have launched an investigation into the incident. The identity and affiliation of the suspects remain unknown at this stage.
