NOSHEHRA: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa – Chief Minister Sardar Ali Amin Gandapur unveiled a special package for the residents of Jaruba during his visit to Nowshera district, where he inaugurated the newly constructed Jaruba Dam. The package includes the provision of solar systems to 250 deserving families in the area, aimed at improving their living standards.
Accompanied by Provincial Ministers Aqibullah Khan, Mian Khaliq-ur-Rehman, and elected members of the National and Provincial Assembly from Nowshera, the Chief Minister was briefed on the dam’s construction and its anticipated benefits. A 6.15-kilometer-long canal has also been constructed to facilitate the irrigation of nearby villages.
In addition to agricultural benefits, the dam will enhance water storage and domestic water supply, providing 0.75 cusecs of drinking water, sufficient for a population of 22,000. Addressing the inauguration ceremony, Chief Minister Gandapur emphasized the importance of maximizing the dam’s benefits for the local community. He expressed regret over the area’s continued backwardness and announced Rs 20 million to address the drinking water problem in Jaruba. He also pledged to include the construction of the remaining two kilometers of road and a Rural Health Center (RHC) in the next year’s budget.
