Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Governor Faisal Karim Kundi has expressed confidence that Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Chairman of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), could soon become Pakistan’s Prime Minister if the people of Punjab continue to support the party.
Speaking to journalists in Mianwali, Governor Kundi highlighted the PPP’s historical connection with Punjab, stating that the people of the province have always shown affection for the party. He emphasized that if this support persists, Bilawal Bhutto could rise to the country’s highest office.
During his interaction, Governor Kundi compared the performance of the Chief Ministers of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Sindh, asserting that Sindh has witnessed more development under Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah. He challenged the KP Chief Minister, stating that if he could demonstrate even a slight edge in development work compared to Sindh, Murad Ali Shah would be willing to resign. Kundi lamented the lack of progress and peace in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, describing the situation as deeply disappointing.
The Governor also criticized the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), accusing the party of failing to deliver on its promises. He pointed out that while PTI had pledged to create millions of jobs and build hundreds of thousands of homes, it had instead abolished 20,000 jobs through a single bill. Kundi termed this move an abuse of public trust and a direct attack on people’s livelihoods.

Addressing the conditions in Adiala Jail, Governor Kundi called for equal treatment of all prisoners. He noted that while special facilities are being provided to a high-profile inmate (referred to as prisoner number 804), such privileges should be extended to all detainees.
Reflecting on PTI’s governance in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kundi remarked that the province, which was handed over to PTI in 2013 as a peaceful region, is now in a state of decline. He dismissed the renaming of Arbab Niaz Stadium to Imran Khan Stadium as a superficial gesture that does not contribute to real development.
Governor Kundi reiterated his belief in the PPP’s potential to lead the nation, emphasizing that the party’s vision and performance in Sindh serve as a testament to its capability. He concluded by expressing optimism that Bilawal Bhutto Zardari’s leadership could bring about positive change for Pakistan.
