ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s meat industry has experienced a significant boost as Indonesia opts for Pakistani beef over Indian, regarding lower costs and increasing global demand.
The National Food Agency of Indonesia has announced plans to import 100,000 metric tonnes of buffalo meat from Pakistan this year, aligning with its broader goal of importing 180,000 metric tonnes of beef and 100,000 metric tonnes of buffalo meat in 2025.
Pakistan’s competitive pricing has positioned it as Indonesia’s top supplier, signaling a major shift in import policies and enhancing Pakistan’s standing in the global meat trade.
With India previously dominating this sector, Pakistan’s growing exports are set to boost foreign exchange reserves and contribute to economic growth.
As international demand for Pakistani meat continues to rise, experts predict that Pakistan will further strengthen its reputation as a cost-effective global meat exporter.
