SWAT: Swat police on Monday claimed to have arrested a suspect in a murder case of a driver who was killed in the limits of Saidu Sharif police station a week ago.
It was stated by sub-divisional police officer, Saidu Sharif Circle, Habib Shah Khan, addressing a news conference in Saidu Swat on Monday.
SDPO says on 16-02-2025, a murder incident took place in the limits of Saidu Sharif Police Station Islampur in the evening. In which the deceased Zahid son of Muhammad Shirin, resident of Katir, Islampur, was shot dead by an unknown accused.
SDPO further emphasized that Saidu Sharif Police Station registered a case under Section 302 of the PPC on the complaint of the deceased’s brother Wajid Ali son of Muhammad Shirin, resident of Katir, Islampur.
Police official says the deceased’s brother Wajid Ali reported to the Saidu Sharif Police Station that the deceased Zahid, who was parking his van in his garage, was shot dead by an unknown accused and fled the scene taking advantage of the darkness of the night.
Taking notice of the incident, District Police Chief Nasir Mahmood immediately ordered SP Lower Swat Ghulam Sadiq, DSP Circle Saidu Sharif, SHO Police Station Saidu Sharif Roshan Ali and investigation staff to arrest the accused involved. SP Lower Swat Ghulam Sadiq formed a police team under the supervision of DSP Circle Saidu Sharif Habib Shah Khan, which included SHO Police Station Saidu Sharif Roshan Ali, Investigation Officer Abdullah and other police personnel.
They worked tirelessly and using modern lines, reached the accused involved and arrested Kamal son of Ramdad, and Younus son of Noor Khan, residents of Mira Aslapur and started the investigation. During the investigation, the accused confessed to the crime and said that we shot and killed the deceased Zahid by Sher Dad, who lives abroad in Muscat, on whose advice we had shot and killed him, because of enmity and dispute.
