ABOTTABAD: Over 50 lawyers have joined Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) here on Monday at a ceremony.
The lawyers announced joining PML-N during a meeting in Abbottabad where Captain (Retired) Safdar was the chief guest. The event was attended by PML-N leaders and lawyers from the different areas of Abbottabad.
While addressing the meeting, Mr Safdar said that the lawyers had chosen a leader who fought for the rule of law and supremacy in the past. In the 90s, Nawaz Sharif had a disagreement with Ghulam Ishaq regarding the motorway. He wanted the motorway not to be built.
PML-N leader said Nawaz Sharif was removed from the government in this series. Then the entire country’s legal community stood up with the slogan that we were part of this history.
“We have abolished 58 2b. The lawyers wanted all the changes made in the 73 constitution during the Zia-ul-Haq era to be withdrawn and the 73 constitution to be restored to its original state,” He added
He further emphasised that when Zulfikar Ali Bhutto made this constitution, he started making changes over time.
Captain Safdar has further said that the voice of corruption raised from Mansehra does not see corruption in Kala Dhaka, Maulana Fazal Rehman said that the Rs 21 billion approved by his centurion, Azam Swati, father Yousuf Khan, who came to Mansehra in the government of Asif Zardari, also became a case of corruption. We filed a case on this. In this case, two innocent deputy commissioners appeared before the NAB and also served jail terms.
He alleged that Rs21 billion was consumed in the black market. The one billion package is from the time of Nawaz Sharif. Who is eating a ten per cent commission in it? Hazara’s daughter-in-law, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, is also giving scholarships to children from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Captain (Retired) Safdar said that the PECA law should be discussed in the assembly. The provisions of the PECA law on which journalists object should be amended. All stakeholders should be taken into confidence in the PECA law. During this, he has made around 50 lawyers who have joined the PML-N wear the PML-N cap.
