PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has announced plans to create the Chief Minister’s Education Emergency Endowment Fund to provide financial support for out-of-school children and reintegrate them into the education system.

Provincial Education Minister Faisal Tarakai revealed on Monday that the fund aims to assist children who are currently not enrolled in schools through various initiatives. He added that the government is working on formal legislation to establish the fund, and a bill will soon be presented in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly for approval.

According to the proposed legislation, a dedicated board will be set up to oversee the fund’s operations. The board will comprise four members, including the Education Minister, the Education Secretary, and two other officials.
