New Zealand victory over Bangladesh ends Pakistan Champions Trophy 2025 hopes

Defending champions Pakistan knocked out of ICC Men's Champions Trophy

Pakistan was eliminated from the ICC  Champions Trophy 2025 after New Zealand secured a five-wicket victory over Bangladesh in Rawalpindi, sealing their spot in the semi-finals alongside India from Group A.

The national team’s hopes hinged on Bangladesh defeating New Zealand, but the Kiwis dominated, ending both Pakistan’s and Bangladesh’s hopes.

India and New Zealand will face off on March 2 to determine the group winner, with semi-finals scheduled for March 4 in Dubai (India) and March 5 in Lahore (New Zealand).

Pakistan hosted an ICC event after 29 years, but the national team failed to deliver, starting with a loss to New Zealand in Karachi. Despite efforts from Khushdil Shah and Salman Ali Agha, Pakistan fell short chasing 321.
