KP ministers, advisors to face accountability committee

PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Accountability Committee has summoned members of the provincial cabinet, including ministers, advisors, and special assistants, to answer questions regarding departmental performance, alleged corruption, and misuse of powers.

The accountability process, which began recently, is expected to conclude by May 6.

According to details, the committee has directed cabinet members from each department to appear before it starting today.

They will be questioned on their performance and the steps taken to address corruption allegations within their respective departments.

The committee will also review actions taken against officials accused of corruption and prepare a comprehensive performance report by the deadline. This report will be submitted to the founding chairman for further evaluation.

Sources indicate that based on the findings of the accountability process, the provincial cabinet will make final decisions on rewards and punishments upcoming months. Ministers and advisors who fail to meet performance expectations may face disciplinary action.
