Bannu police register three cases under PECA law for criticising officer

BANNU: Bannu Police have registered three cases under the PECA law against social media users for criticising a police officer online.

The cases were filed at the city police station under the PECA law.

Housing Station Officer (SHO) Zaheer Khan, the complainant, stated in separate FIRs that the accused used abusive language against him and other officers. He also claimed in FIRs that they issued death threats.

Zaheer Khan mentioned that Muhammad Taj, Jamsheed Khan and Asmatullah used social media to insult him and other officers. The accused also issued threats, which affected the officers’ morale and hurt their self-esteem.
