PESHAWAR: Chief Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Shahab Ali Shah chaired a high-level briefing on the performance and operations of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Food Safety and Halal Food Authority.

The meeting focused on the authority’s achievements, operational framework, and plans to ensure food safety during the holy month of Ramadan.

During the briefing, the Director General of the Halal Food Authority outlined the Ramadan Action Plan, detailing measures to guarantee the availability of safe, halal, and high-quality food in markets across the province.

The plan includes intensified inspections and coordination with local administrations to enforce food safety standards.

Chief Secretary Shah emphasized the importance of effective implementation of the action plan, urging the authority to work closely with district administrations.

He stressed that the measures are designed to provide maximum relief to the public and ensure access to safe and healthy food during Ramadan.

The Chief Secretary also underscored the need for strict monitoring and enforcement to prevent the sale of substandard or unsafe food items, particularly during the holy month when food consumption patterns change significantly.

The briefing concluded with directives to enhance public awareness campaigns about food safety and to ensure timely action against violations.
