PARACHINAR: The bodies of five Pakistanis who died in the Libya boat accident have reached native town Parachinar on Friday.
bodies of the deceased, brought back to Pakistan on Thursday, were transferred from Peshawar to Parachinar via helicopter.
Out of six brought back, one was from Orakzai and the rest were from Parachinar of the troubled tribal district Kurram. The bodies were shifted to Bacha Khan International Airport on Thursday.
The Kurram district administration said that the bodies were to be brought to Parachinar by helicopter yesterday, but the helicopter was suspended due to bad weather.
Six more bodies were brought back to Pakistan today. These include Haider Saqlain, Asif Ali, Ashfaq Hussain, and Nusrat Hussain from Parachinar. Out of these, three bodies were already shifted to Peshawar Airport. The airport authorities said that three more dead bodies were brought to Peshawar Airport from Islamabad. The bodies of three more people will also be transferred from Peshawar to Parachinar by helicopter later today, confirmed the airport authorities.
Former Federal Minister for Overseas Pakistanis Sajid Hussain Turi said that the bodies of six people will be transferred from Peshawar to Parachinar by helicopter today.
Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that thirteen out of sixteen identified victims of the Libyan boat tragedy belong to Parachinar, while one each hailed from Bajaur, Orakzai and Peshawar districts of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
