Entry of tourists to Galiyat banned as rain, snowfall continue in KP

BBOTTABAD: In response to heavy snowfall in the scenic Galiyat  area, local authorities have imposed a ban on tourist entry and urged visitors to avoid unnecessary travel to the area. The district administration issued the directive on [insert date], citing safety concerns and potential difficulties caused by the severe weather conditions.

The decision comes as snowfall has disrupted daily life in several parts of the region. Private and government educational institutions in Union Council Barangli, Nagri Bala, Nathi Gali, Tajwal Patan Kalan, Kokum, Namli Mira, and Khaira Gali have been closed for two days, according to a notification released by the Abbottabad Education Department. The closures aim to ensure the safety of students and staff amid the challenging weather.

The Galiat Development Authority (GDA) and local police have been deployed to monitor entry points and enforce the travel restrictions. Authorities are also working to manage the situation for tourists already in the area, advising them to contact the district administration in case of emergencies.
