FIFA has lifted its ban on the Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) after the federation approved constitutional amendments aimed at ensuring transparency in its election process.
The decision, announced by FIFA on March 2, 2025, follows an Extraordinary Congress session held in Lahore last week, where the PFF endorsed the proposed changes. The amendments were a key requirement set by FIFA and the Asian Football Confederation (AFC).
Pakistan is now eligible to resume international football activities, including participation in the AFC Asian Cup qualifiers. The PFF must quickly prepare for its upcoming qualifier against Syria later this month.

FIFA’s decision restores all of PFF’s membership rights, allowing Pakistan’s national and club teams to compete internationally once again.
The PFF has faced multiple suspensions in recent years due to governance issues and third-party interference.
