LAHORE: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has made huge changes in the T20 team dropping captain Mohammad Rizwan as well as Babar Azam for the five-match series in New Zealand.
Mohammad Rizwan, however, managed to survive as captain of One Day Internationals (ODI) despite recent humiliating defeat in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. Head coach Aqib Javed said that Rizwan’s vice captain Salman Ali Agha now will superlead the T20 team. He also announced the return of allrounder Shadab Khan.
Head coach Aqib Javed announced the national squad for the upcoming white-ball series against New Zealand, set to commence later this month.
On the ODI side of things, Rizwan retains his captaincy, but pacer Shaheen Afridi has been dropped from the team.
The series will feature five T20 Internationals (T20Is) followed by three One Day Internationals (ODIs), running from March 16 to April 5.
