PESHAWAR: Chief Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa KP, Shahab Ali Shah, chaired a high-level meeting to review the province’s financial affairs.
The session, attended by Finance Secretary and senior officials, focused on budget planning, fund distribution, and sectoral expenditures.
Key discussions included the utilization of budgets for flagship projects, salary and pension estimates, and governance reforms.
The Chief Secretary stressed advance preparation for the upcoming budget and directed department heads to analyze financial needs meticulously.
A roadmap for financial management reforms, emphasizing transparency, digitization, and automation, was also presented.

Officials highlighted fiscal achievements, including over 50 revenue reforms in the Finance Bill, boosting provincial revenues by Rs14 billion—a 50% increase from last year.
In the first half of FY 2024-25, 90.7% of revenue targets were met, surpassing the previous year’s 66%. Mineral royalties surged by 200%, with further growth expected, while provincial resources are projected to generate Rs100 billion.
Development fund releases rose by 35%, and Rs5.4 billion in royalties were collected from the mining sector.
