ANP Shangla general secretary dies in road accident

 

SHANGLA: The Awami National Party’s Provincial deputy general secretary and former provincial assembly candidate, Mutawakil Khan died and his driver sustained with critical injuries when a jeep plunged into a ravine in Sangrai area of Shangla here on Friday afternoon.

According to police, Mutawakil Khan was returning from condolences when the vehicle’s brakes went out of order, causing the jeep to fall into a ravine, as a result, Mutawkil Khan died on the spot.

Police said the Mutawakil’s driver was injured in the incident and was shifted to the rural health centre Karora for treatment.

According to police, Mutawakil Khan’s dead body was also dispatched to his home, Barkana, Shangla.

Mutawakil Khan was provincial deputy general secretary of the ANP and also held the district general secretary position of the party. He contested the provincial assembly elections several times on the QWP and ANP tickets.
