PESHAWAR: Former Nazim of village Badhani, a suburb of Peshawar, and Jamaat-e-Islami member Haji Hameed Gul was shot dead by unknown assailants on the Motorway Service Road while he was going to his village.
Haji Hameed Gul’s body was shifted to a nearby hospital. About motive of the incident the police have raised a boundary dispute.
Nowshera police said that the incident occurred within the limits of Peshawar, while Peshawar police calling the incident site within Nowshera’s boundaries.
On the other hand, the local people have closed the Peshawar-Islamabad motorway in protest against the killing of Haji Hameed Gul and the police boundary dispute.
Peshawar police have also not yet released any details regarding the incident. It should be noted that Haji Hameed was targeted before iftar, after which the local people closed the motorway.
