LDA’s Town Planning Wing sealed 43 illegal buildings

LAHORE: The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) sealed 43 illegal commercial buildings and commercialisation fee defaulter premises in different parts of city yesterday.

The LDA Town Planning Wing sealed 20 properties in Shadman and Shah Jamal and 23 in Allama Iqbal Town for unauthorised commercial use and nonpayment of commercialisation fees.

Among the sealed premises were Dar-e-Arqam School, The Diabetes Centre, Pak Hospital, Pakistan Flourmills Association office, restaurants, shops, and other businesses.

The operations were supervised by LDA Chief Town Planner I Assad-uz-Zaman and conducted with the assistance of police enforcement teams.

LDA officials stated that multiple notices had been issued to the building owners before the crackdown.

Meanwhile, LDA Director General Tahir Farooq has ordered continued action against land encroachments, illegal commercial structures, and fee defaulters to ensure compliance with regulations in Lahore.
